REVIVAL Daemon
communication schemes
The architecture is based on a client-server model. Depending on encryption preferences, it communicates with the REVIVAL Server via HTTP or HTTPS. On top of these protocols, the Daemon also uses REVIVALTalk™ to exchange data between device and server in an efficient way.
REVIVAL Mobile Manager Suite is network and operator agnostic. It works on any connection to the internet (or LAN on an internal setup) and REVIVAL Device Daemon will, if configured to do so, try to utilize the best suited connection at any time.
REVIVAL Device Daemon offers a number of ways on how to communicate with a REVIVAL Server. Possible scenarios include:
- Always-on - REVIVAL Device Daemon will always try to maintain a connection to the server.
- Interval - An interval configuration will make REVIVAL Device Daemon connect to a server on an interval basis.
- Scheduled - REVIVAL Device Daemon can be configured to connect at a certain time on a certain day.
- Offline - In this kind of configuration REVIVAL Device Daemon will never attempt to connect to the server automatically. Instead, a special purpose SMS wakes up the device when the need is identified and then falls to sleep again when done.
