Swedish IT Company, The Institution, gets a real top in the company as Pieter Knook, former executive for Microsoft’s mobile department, takes on the responsibility as chairman of the board.
Pieter Knook has a long background at Microsoft, where he for 18 years has taken on great responsibilities. He was the Senior Vice President for Mobile Communications Business and before that President for Microsoft Asia. His contact in Sweden at that time was Henrik Wirén, now managing director at The Institution, and that is the beginning of the story of how he got on board on this relatively small and unknown Swedish company.
The Institution develops cross-platform mobile device management. The main product is Revival. In short, the concept of their business is to provide a tool for the IT-departments to keep track of all iPhones, iPads, Androids and all other mobile devices within the company.
Pieter Knook points out that the company has got off to a good start on the Swedish market, with hundreds of customers already, but he still considers the future potential for the product to be great.
-Every single mobile device that exists within a company needs to be managed. That implies millions of mobile phone devices in Sweden alone. Today, very few of those are managed. It is all about being able to perform fundamental things to control the devices and get information about them, to secure them and make sure that the applications the employees need are installed on their devices.
Besides from Knook, Gustav Bard, former managing director at 3i Nordic is also entering the board of The Institution
